Perris Auto Speedway tweaks "Peoples champion sprint car fund".

PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY TWEAKS PEOPLE’S CHAMPION SPRINT CAR FUND!

(MARCH 27, 2008, PERRIS, CA) Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian announced on Thursday that some tweaking and adjustments have been made to the 2008 People’s Champion Sprint Car Fund that was announced last week.

Earlier in the week Kazarian met with Jim Cardey, father of Sprint Car star David Cardey, and they made adjustments to the fund. “Several fans made suggestions on changes to our original system and we listened to what they had to say,” Kazarian said on Thursday afternoon. “Most notably will be a separation of A and B main points. The fans money will pay the top 15 in A Main points and the top 10 in B Main points. Initially, it was one deal. Now 75% of the money raised will go to the top 15 in A Main points and 25% will go to the top 10 in B Main points. Like before, 100% of all of the money raised goes to the teams.”

Fans may contribute any amount they wish and they can do so by calling The PAS office (951 940-0134) or they can contribute at the souvenir stand at every race.

In addition to the separate point funds, a few other changes were announced as well. Included in the changes is the addition of bonus points. The fast qualifier each night will earn five extra bonus points (A Main points). If a driver wins the A Main from the pole (which seldom happens at The PAS) he will pick up five bonus points. Likewise if a driver leads every lap of the A Main he bags extra five points as well.

Kazarian also announced that there would be five double points nights. They will be:

April 12th

June 21st

August 9th

October 4th

November 29th
