Global Safety Sources, Inc. Joins the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints in 2008: Sets up the I-90 Challenge and Independence Holiday Clash.



SYRACUSE, N.Y. – As the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints gets ready to see the first green flag of the season, the sponsorship fold continues to grow with the latest addition of Global Safety Sources, Inc. (GSSI) An affiliation with General Electric, GSSI will back two separate two race events with $1,000 point funds each.



Introducing the GSSI I-90 (for Interstate 90) Challenge and the GSSI Independence Holiday Clash. Two events each at three different tracks making up the unique promotion. The first $1,000 point fund will be for the May 25th event at the Utica-Rome Speedway followed by the May 31st date a the Fonda Speedway which is the annual Earl Halaquist Memorial. Both tracks are right off the New York State Thruway which is the well traveled I-90. The top five drivers in points from these two, $2,000 to win events will be rewarded from the hefty point fund.



The other two dates do make up a weekend, the 4th of July to be exact. On Saturday night, July 5th it’s off to the Can-Am Motorsports Park followed by another Sunday night visit to Utica-Rome. Once again, five drivers will take a share from the $1,000 point fund offered.



GSSI hails from Pasadena TX and provides personnel, safety support, training and supplies for all aspects of construction, nuclear, chemical and refinerys all over the country. With these four shows in the heart of ESS country, big fields are expected not only for the $2,000 to win events but also with the added dollars offered with the contribution from GSSI. All of the bonuses are open to any driver that enters each event.



Not only will the GSSI logo be flown at all ESS events on every car but you will see GSSI backing on Andy Noto’s sprinter. A 2008 rookie of the year hopeful, Noto comes from an asphalt background running Oswego Super Modifieds and is an employee of GSSI. His sharp #19 made its debut at the Motorsports Expo in Syracuse, N.Y. just a few weeks back.



“Having GSSI come aboard just gives the teams a little more to race for. A-Main sponsors and weekend point funds have been a goal in the off season and it has taken off. We still have more in the works.” added ESS President Chuck Miller. “We just have to thank Neal Rose, the President from GSSI and GE Safety for his contribution. We’re also glad to have Andy supporting us in such a great capacity and he hasn’t even run his first sprint race with us.”



A total of 31 dates fill the Lucas Oil sponsored traveling road show, top stars such as Steve Poirier, Jeff VanDusen, Lance Yonge, Jeff Cook, Alain Bergeron and many.
