Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: I-55 Raceway

WHAT
• The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series 30th Anniversary Tour continues at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri on Saturday, April 5. The series first competed at the high-banked 1/3-mile in 1987, with Brad Doty and 20-time series champion Steve Kinser picking up wins. In the 28 A-Feature events contested at the track since, 18 different drivers have visited the winner’s circle, led by Kinser’s four triumphs. Of the 20 drivers competing full-time with the series this season, nine have won at the track which is co-owned by NASCAR star Ken Schrader. Joey Saldana is the defending race winner at the track.
WHEN
• On Saturday, April 5, the Pit Gates will open Noon Central, while the Grandstand Gates will open at 3 p.m. Central and Hot Laps are tentatively set for 6:15 p.m. Central.
WHERE
• I-55 Raceway is located in Pevely, Missouri. Take I-55 to Herculaneum exit (#178), then travel east on U.S. 61/67, go north to Herky-Horine Road, then 1/2-mile west.

• News: Craig Dollansky currently leads the World of Outlaws championship points, along with the Qwik Liner Cup, which awards points for the Top-Five qualifiers in each of the first 13 Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events. He also won an event at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Pennsylvania on March 21… Jason Meyers won a pair of events in his home state of California last month, at Silver Dollar Speedway and Ocean Speedway, both tracks the World of Outlaws will compete on later this season… Donny Schatz, the two-time defending series champion remains in the National Speed Sport News Power Rankings in the sixth position… Joey Saldana competed in the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway last month and also in Pennsylvania a couple of times, where he earned a runner-up finish at Williams Grove Speedway on March 21… Terry McCarl has three Top-10 finishes in the first four World of Outlaws events this season… Kerry Madsen recently competed in the King of Wings event at Perth Motorplex in his native Australia and also returned home for the Australian Sprint Car Championship, which was canceled due to rain… Steve Kinser has five wins in his career at I-55 Raceway, to lead all active drivers… Chad Kemenah earned his first career World of Outlaws A-Feature win at I-55 Raceway in 2005… Jason Sides finished third on both nights of the Spring National at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas a couple weeks ago and also earned a Top-Five finish at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma…Jac Haudenschild has three wins during his career at I-55 Raceway… Tim Shaffer recently competed in his home state of Pennsylvania, earning a runner-up finish at Williams Grove Speedway on March 28, along with a couple of Top-10’s at Lincoln Speedway… Kraig Kinser was victorious at I-55 Raceway in 2005… Daryn Pittman won at I-55 in 2002 and competed in Pennsylvania a couple weeks ago, along with earning two Top-10 finishes at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma… Danny Lasoski has three wins at I-55 in his career, including one with the World of Outlaws in 2004. The 2001 series champion won at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma on March 21 and followed that up with a runner-up performance at the 3/8-mile facility… Lucas Wolfe, who will make his first start at I-55 this week, has been competing in his home state of Pennsylvania for the last few weeks, earning a number of Top-10 finishes… Shane Stewart won the opening night of the Silver Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in California on March 21 and has earned several Top-10 finishes in California over the last couple of weeks… Sam Hafertepe Jr. earned two Top-10 finishes at the Spring Nationals at Devil’s Speedway and also one at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City in their Spring Nationals. He finished second at Champion Park Speedway in Louisiana on March 29… Justin Henderson has three career starts with the World of Outlaws at I-55 Raceway dating back to 2006… Tony Bruce Jr. won the opening night of the Spring Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on March 14 and followed that up with a runner-up finish the following night. This past weekend, he competed in Pennsylvania at Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway… Chad Hillier and his team recently set up shop in Brownsburg, Indiana, giving the Washington-based team a central location to work from during the season.
