SPENCER WINS AT THE PAS,
WILL LEAD USAC/CRA SPRINTS BACK TO PERRIS APRIL 12
Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. is the new point leader in the USAC/CRA Sprint Car series and will lead the series back to Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway on April 12.
Spencer took the race lead and the point lead from Cory Kruseman Saturday night at The PAS, passing Kruseman on lap 25 and leading the final six laps in his Temecula Valley Pipe & Supply/Circle “C” Marketing Maxim/Shaver. Kruseman led the first 24 laps and finished second and now trails Spencer by five points in the new standings.
Defending series champion Tony Jones took third, ahead of Tyler Brown and Rickie Gaunt. Fast qualifier Josh Ford was one of three drivers who flipped during the program but escaped injury.
Spencer became the seventh different race winner in eight USAC/CRA races so far this year.
