Fultonville, NY - With wet grounds forcing the cancellation of the March 29th season opener, the schedule has been changed for this coming week. Racing will now take place on Saturday April 5th with a rain date of April 6th. All classes will now be on the racing card. Gates open at 11am.
The new season looks to be a promising one at the Ridge with many new faces making appearances early in the season and some new faces calling the Ridge home for 2008. Headlining the list of early season invaders is the Advanced Lubrication Specialties Racing Team with Jeff Brownell Jr. and 2007 New Egypt Speedway track champion and Advanced Auto Parts Super Series regular Matt Sheppard. Accord Speedway drivers Jackie Brown and rookie modified runner and 2007 Accord Sportsman champion Danny Tyler and Howard Jarvis will also make appearances at the Ridge.
Joining the weekly wars at the Ridge include Thunder Mountain Speedway runners Jeff Sheely, Tim Mayne, and Richie Price and Utica Rome regular John Ramsey. Adding to the field are returning regulars track champion Craig Hanson, Erik Nelson, Floyd Billington, Jamike Sowle, and Bob Vedder.
Special Events dot the Glen Ridge schedule for 2008. The Bob VanAernam Memorial Street Stock Race comes about on May 2nd while Fan Appreciation Night featuring $5 grandstand admission is on May 23rd. Kid's Night featuring Kiddie Rides is on July 25th. The CRSA Sprint Cars join the program on August 30th and the ever popular Pro Stocks make 3 appearances on August 23, September 12, and September 19th to the Ridge. The Midstate Vintage Car Club brings their classic modifieds and sportsman to the speedway September 12th.
