Limaland Set to Kick Off 2008 Season
Limaland Motorsports Park will have twenty events in the 2008 season. “I think this is the best schedule that we have assembled in our eleven years of operation. The variety of sanctioning groups and classes of race cars is a race fans dream”, said Bob Fricke, General Manager. The Season Opening Shootout is Friday, April 11th and the final race is the Limaland Motorsports Park Season Championships and King of the Quarter-Mile Races on Friday, August 29th.
The premier event on the schedule is the 20th Annual Fram/Autolite Brad Doty Classic slated for Wednesday, July 9th. It marks the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to the famed high-banks of Limaland. Every action-packed month will provide a season full of awesome racing action. The following is a quick glance of the notable events on the schedule:
· EFI/NRA Sprint Invaders will kick off the season on April 11th
· Ladies Nights Thunderstock Shootout will feature an all-ladies race
· 9th Annual Run for the Rabbit will kickoff the month of May
· Sunoco American Late Models highlight week five
· Meet The Drivers Nights, a fan favorite
· May ends with the 9th Annual Memorial Cup
· 9th Annual Steve Brown Memorial is the first of four races in June
· North vs South Shootout featuring the NRA Sprint Invaders & Sprints on Dirt
· 7th Annual Bobby Keysor Memorial, Meet the Drivers Night
· June ends with the All Star Circuit of Champion Sprints as Limaland hosts the 26th Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek –NRA Challenge and Modifieds
· WEDNESDAY, JULY 9TH, THE 20TH ANNUAL BRAD DOTY CLASSIC. The World of Outlaws on a quarter-mile, high-banked track. It’s the MUST SEE show of the season
· Limaland will be celebrating its 73rd Anniversary on July 18th
· Trucks are back. On the 1st of August, Limaland will be hosting the 4 cylinder truck class and the Vern Fricke Memorial Thunderstock Select will be contested
· Look for the NRA versus the 305 Sprint Challenge in August
· Mini Sprint Madness returns in 2008
· The NRA Championship and the final Meet the Drivers Night will be August 22nd
· Limaland’s Championship Night is August 29th, as well as the King of the Quarter-Mile races
