POST-RACE QUOTES & NOTES:
Donny Schatz, driver of the No. 15 Armor All/Chevy/ParkerStore/J&J for TSR:
ˇ§It was good to get back racing, but we certainly didnˇ¦t have the kind of night we hoped for. We expect to be challenging for wins every night and tonight we werenˇ¦t.
ˇ§We were one of the later cars to qualify and the track slowed down, but we still made the inversion (top 12) for the heat race. We started on the pole in the second heat race and werenˇ¦t able to hold the spot to make it into the dash. In the feature, we started 11th and were able to get into the top-10 early, but couldnˇ¦t charge to the front like we were looking to. Ricky (Warner) and the crew (Shane Bowers, Kyle Sundby and Evan Funk) worked hard to give me a good car all night.
ˇ§The schedule starts to pick up, now, and we can get back to racing regularly. We are looking forward to continuing to improve every night with this Tony Stewart Racing team. Our goal continues to be putting that first World of Outlaws victory on the board for TSR, Armor All, Chevy and ParkerStore.ˇ¨
Kraig Kinser, driver of the No. 20 Bass Pro Shops/Chevy/J.D. Byrider Maxim for TSR:
ˇ§We were ready to get back to racing as we headed to Pevely on Saturday, but things didnˇ¦t turn out the way we would have liked them to in the end. I-55 is one of those tracks where things can go really, really well or they can turn the tables on you. Iˇ¦ve had some luck there in the past and weˇ¦d hoped to continue to build our momentum on Saturday. We had a decent qualifying run and transferred out of the heat race to put the TSR/Bass Pro Shops/Chevy in the A-main. During the race, we had just gone back to green after Billy (Alley) had flipped. Iˇ¦m not sure if something broke or if we lost a tire, but the car started flipping and our night was over at that point.
ˇ§All of the guys at Tony Stewart Racing have worked really hard over the break to prepare for getting back on the road. Weˇ¦re going to work hard to put Bass Pro Shops, Chevy and J.D. Byrider in the winnerˇ¦s circle very soon. Weˇ¦ll go back to the shop this week and get ready for the two-day show at Eldora this weekend.ˇ¨
