Meyers Moves Up to Third in National Speed Sport News Power Rankings
Concord, NC— April 9, 2008--By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director
Jason Meyers continued his impressive start to the 2008 season on Saturday night at I-55
Raceway in Missouri by winning his third Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint
Car Series event of the season and second straight. The victory moved him up to third in
the weekly National Speed Sport News Power Rankings.
Meyers aboard the GLR Investments KPC is just one point out of the lead in the Advance
Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings, on the strength
of five Top-Five finishes in the same number of races this season.
“It’s amazing the kind of start we have had this year,” said Meyers, after his win at I-55
Raceway. “It’s certainly something we worked hard all winter for and hoped to achieve.
It’s something that usually is very hard to achieve and all of the hard work is paying off
now. These guys are working hard day in and day out.”
Meyers has finished ninth or better in every sprint car A-Feature event he has taken part
in this season, and dating back to last October he has 24 consecutive Top-10 finishes,
including in a pair of events in Australia.
Billy Moyer, who has won three consecutive World of Outlaws Late Model Series events
and who will look to extend that streak this weekend at Virginia Motor Speedway, is on
top of the Power Rankings. The Power Rankings feature drivers from all forms of
motorsports.
Headquartered in Roanoke, Va., Advance Auto Parts is the second-largest retailer of
