SPRINTS AND LATE MODELS APRIL 11 -- NATIONAL OPEN LIVE ON SPEED
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- World Racing Group, parent company of the
World of Outlaws sprint car series, has announced that three nights of
racing from Williams Grove Speedway will be televised on SPEED.
The World of Outlaws will sanction six nights of racing at Williams
Grove this season beginning on Thursday and Friday, May 15-16. The
Summer Nationals on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19, will mark the
second stop and the National Open on Friday and Saturday, September
26-27, will be the third.
All six World of Outlaws races will be sponsored by Cleveland Brothers.
SPEED will record both the May races.
The May 15 event will be aired on Saturday, May 31, from 4-5 PM.
The May 16 race will be broadcast on Sunday, June 8, from 1-2 PM.
The National Open on September 27 will be a live broadcast from 8-11.
Williams Grove is one of only six speedways that will have World of
Outlaws sprint car races aired on SPEED this year. Others include the
Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, NC, Iowa's Knoxville
Raceway, Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, Dodge City Raceway in Kansas
and Canada's Oshweken Speedway.
Williams Grove and Lowe's are the only two speedways that will host
live World of Outlaws sanctioned events on SPEED in 2008.
"We are very pleased to have Williams Grove back on SPEED this
year," said Justin Loh, the Grove's general manager. "And having the
National Open on live television is further proof that it is still one
of the most prestigious sprint car races anywhere."
Reserved seats for all six World of Outlaws races are currently on
sale at the speedway office and credit card orders are accepted at
717.697.5000.
Williams Grove will host the return of the late model stock cars
along with the sprint cars on Friday evening, April 11, at 7:30.
A strong field of 33 cars were in competition on March 28, and a
race-long battle for the lead between winner Andy Anderson and Gary
Stuhler has anticipation at a high level for the April 11 return of the
stock cars.
