St. Catharines, ONT… The 2008 BRP CanAm Series point chase will begin with a weekly event at Black Rock Speedway on Friday April 18th.
New for 2008 is the home track bonus program. Drivers will earn track points from weekly events at Black Rock Speedway, McKean County Raceway, Little Valley Speedway, and Woodhull Raceway. Point standings from weekly events at those tracks will be standardized and entered into Series point standings to determine the 2008 BRP CanAm Series Champion.
Home track bonus point program starting dates are: Friday April 18th at Black Rock Speedway, Saturday April 19th at Woodhull, Saturday April 26th at McKean County, and Sunday May 25th at Little Valley.
Black Rock Speedway will also host the first 2008 BRP CanAm Series tour event. That race is scheduled on Friday May 2nd will be presented by Brzezinski Racing Products of Pewaukee, Wisconsin will pay the winner $1500. It will also be the first BRP CanAm Series event to include time trials as part of the qualifying procedure. Brzezinski will award the fast timer $100.
The month of May will be a busy month for BRP CanAm race teams. After the Black Rock opener tour events are scheduled for Merrittville Speedway on Saturday May 17th, Little Valley on Sunday May 25th, and Woodhull on Monday May 26th.
