O'Reilly All Star Series Mourns Loss of Morgan Hughes
CAMARGO, IL (4/14/08) by Bryan Autullo - All Star Director of Public Relations
The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions wish to pass along condolences to the family and friends of Morgan Hughes, the man who made Williams Grove Speedway into one of the top dirt track racing facilities in the United States. Hughes passed away Saturday morning in his home.
Hughes, 88, was instrumental in many of the improvements at the speedway as well as bringing great competition in to compete against the PA Posse. The O'Reilly All Stars and World of Outlaws have enjoyed many visits to this fine Central Pennsylvania track during Mr. Hughes' reign.
I am saddened by this news, said O'Reilly All Star President Guy Webb. Mr. Hughes made Williams Grove one of the best places in the country to come and race. I want to extend my sympathy to the Williams Grove family and staff on behalf of the All Stars.
A viewing for Mr. Hughes will be held on Wednesday, April 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Cocklin Funeral Home, 30 North Chestnut Street, Dillsburg, Pa.
O'Reilly All Star Series Announce Changes to Thunder Schedule
CAMARGO, IL (4/14/08) by Bryan Autullo - All Star Director of Public Relations
The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions have made adjustments to the 2008 Thunder Through the Plains schedule to make things more travel friendly for both drivers and fans who wish to attend this great week of racing prior to the Knoxville Nationals. With fuel prices rising steadily, it was in the best interest of the series to make modifications to this week from an economic standpoint, and it has become one of the must see weeks of the summer.
First, the All Stars will visit the Belleville High Banks on Thursday July 31st. From there, they'll head to Mayetta, Kansas' Thunderhill Speedway on Friday August 1st. Then the All Stars will make a rare appearance at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, NE on Saturday, August 2nd. Finally on Sunday, August 3rd, the O'Reilly All Stars will make their way to Husets Speedway in Brandon, SD.
The 48th Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals will be held on August 6th through 9th, making this a short trip for many of the All Star teams already in the area. Many other teams who will be headed to Knoxville will now be able to participate in some All Star races along the way.
