Santa Maria, CA - 4-16-08...
The 45th consecutive season of auto racing begins Saturday night at Santa Maria Speedway with Bandit Sprint Cars, D&S Automotive IMCA Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Mini Stocks attacking the 1/3 mile clay oval.
*Visalia's Jesse Mack will be staged to defend his Bandit Sprint Car title. Modified champ Tim Breshears, of Santa Maria, has reportedly retired which would pass the torch to '07 runner up Chad Weber of Arroyo Grande. Santa Maria's Kirk Morgan and Arroyo Grande's Justin Crockett will defend the Factory Stock and Mini Stock championships, respectively.
*Spectator gates will open at three, Saturday night, with qualifying at five-fifteen and racing at six. Prices are: Adults - $15.00, Seniors (65+) - $11.00, Children 6 to 12 - $5.00, 5 and under free. The Speedway does not accept credit cards.
