Newberrytown, PA (April 22, 2008) – Stock Car Saturday Night Series returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday, April 26, with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars, Legends Cars and the York Haven Auto Sales Mini Vans. This is the last race of a blind draw for the starting spots for the Late Models, Street Stocks and Xtreme Stocks. Handicapping will begin on the fourth race of the season for these divisions.
On Saturday, April 19, the pit gates will open 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for the Stock Car Saturday Night will be Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $22.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17.
There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
Last Saturday night found John Moser, Jr. from East Berlin collecting his first career SSP victory in the Late Model division. Middletown ’s Eric Walker won his second straight Street Stock feature by half a car length over Dustin Hollinger. Ronnie Buck from Annville won the Four Cylinder feature and
Lancaster’s Donnie Broderick was victorious in the very competitive Xtreme Stock Car division. Paul Bacchus from Valencia picked up the PENNMAR Vintage Car feature event victory. York Haven’s Butch Richcreek won the Speedway Auto Sales Mini Van feature.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located midway between Harrisburg and York off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. SSP Pit Notes
- Wednesday Night Test & Tune – The next Wednesday Night test session will be on April 30. It is open to any type of racecars. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. The fuel pumps fro Miller’s Racing Parts will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the public. The main concession stand will also be open throughout the night.
- New Pit Access Gate – The back gate outside turn 2 off Kise Mill Road will no longer be used. The only entrance to enter the pit area will be in the front of the speedway off the York Road . This area has been reconfigured to accommodate the larger haulers at this entrance.
- Raceceivers Mandatory – One-way Raceceivers are now mandatory for the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stocks and Legends Car competing at SSP in 2008. For more information or to purchase one, contact Miller’s Racing Parts at 717-766-0181. A limited number of rental units will be available on race night.

“The Outback Track at SSP”
Testing at the Outback Track scheduled for late April with racing beginning in mid to late May on Saturday mid-morning / afternoon. Gearing the “Outback Track” to the youth, the inside is 1/10 mile for Quarter Midgets with the outer perimeter measuring 1/7 mile for both karts and Bandolero Cars. The turns are 75 feet wide with the straight approximately 50 feet in width. More details will be released as they become available.
· Outback Track Schedule also to be released in the near future (First Practice Day tentatively scheduled for Saturday morning, May 24.
