FONDA, NY – On Saturday, April 26 at the Track of Champions Fonda Speedway a regular show in all divisions is on the racing card along with a 360 Sprint Car Open. Pit gates will open at 3:00 p.m. with the front gates opening at 4:00 p.m. and racing starting at 6:00 p.m.
There have been six previous 360 Sprint Car Open events held at Fonda with Dan Kaszubinski leading the way with two victories in the event (2004 & 2005), while Brian Dumigan (2002), Mike Lutz (2003), Jessica Zemken (2006), and Justin Barger (2007) all have one win apiece.
Last year Barger beat Rick Wilson, Alain Bergeron, Jeff VanDusen, and Nick Fratto to the checkered flag for the win with a total of 27 Sprint cars on hand for the event.
With Saturday evening being an off night for the ESS (Empire Super Sprints) club many of their regulars are usually on hand for the event at Fonda to get some track time with their new equipment to start out the 2008 racing season. ESS opened their season at the Black Rock Speedway back on Saturday, April 12 with Barger the winner of the event.
