AUTOGRAPH AND CAMERA NIGHT SATURDAY MAY 3
MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The Saturday Night Series returns to Williams Grove
Speedway on May 3, and the gates will open early to accommodate the fans
on Autograph and Camera Night.
Super sportsman racing will be the featured attraction on Saturday
with limited late models, street stocks and 4-cylinder stock cars also
on this week's card.
The first heat is scheduled to start at 7:00.
Fans are invited to arrive early and meet the sportsman and
4-cylinder drivers who will have their cars on display in the infield
beginning at 4:30.
Pit gates will open at 4:00 and general admission tickets will go
on sale at 4:30.
John Wentzel's Body Shop of Myerstown, will hand out disposable
cameras to the first 100 families in the infield on Saturday.
Lobar, Inc., of Dillsburg, will give away 100 T-shirts to fans aged
16 and under. The T-shirts may be used to collect autographs from the
sportsman and 4-cylinder drivers.
The Saturday Night Series competitors haven't completed a race
since April 12, so a large field of cars is expected to compete this
week. The pit log has averaged nearly 100 on Saturday nights through
the early season.
Competition in the Sutliff Auto Group sportsman division couldn't
be much closer with two drivers tied for first place in the point
standings after the first two races.
Two-time defending champion Frankie Herr and Carmen Perigo, Jr.
have each accumulated 500 points. Both drivers have identical records
thus far with each recording second and fifth place finishes.
Gene Knaub leads the A. J.'s limited late model points.
Dave Leidy has won both features in the Credit Connection
4-cylinders and defending street stock king Kory Sites leads the L. B.
Smith Ford street stock points.
