Daryl Charlier, Pittsburgh PA won his first feature of the season in the Brougher's Machine Shop Crate Late Models. The 20-lap feature started off with a bang, as a first lap first turn crash gathered up several cars. Laura Lukon got the worst of the wreck rolling her machine after getting tagged by opening night winner Russ Kolesar. Lukon was conscious but taken to the hospital. Bryant Hank, Dusty Curry, Steve Beatty, Tim Stefanick, and Terry Kerr were also involved but able to continue. Both Lukon and Kolesar's cars were done for the night. On the restart, Scott Schempp grabbed the lead and led the first lap; then 5th starting Mike Pegher took over on lap 2. Pegher weathered a couple of cautions and had built up a decent lead, looking like a winner, but a lap 17 caution tightened things up. On the restart Charlier made a daring move going into turn three and came out with the lead. Pegher ended up a disappointing second followed by Daniel Angelicchio, Mark Moats Jr., Schempp, first timer Butch Lambert (who had a very solid run in his Crate debut), Louie Bradich, Josh Holtgraver, Hank, and Beatty. The heats saw Laura Lukon and Daryl Charlier earn the wins.
In the Pizza Hut Late Model feature event, defending track champion Jared Miley of South Park, PA, grabbed his first win of the young season. Last season's Crate champ, Kyle Lukon, took advantage of his front row starting spot and took the lead at the start. Lukon looked solid and was being chased by Ben Miley. Seventh starting Steve Baker had moved into third and was closing as was fourth running Mike Johnson. Miley made a bid for the lead and took it on lap 8. Lukon challenged Miley going down the back straight and ran up on lapped traffic. Miley made the right move and cleared the slower car and Lukon did not, tagging the lapped car, and collecting Johnson, with both cars hitting the turn three wall. Both were through for the night. On the restart Baker challenged Miley for the lead, with Jared Miley moving up from 11th to third, but going down the back straight fourth running Lynn Geisler spun and collected Brandon Burgoon, Jim Stephans and a couple of others. Geisler, Burgoon and Stephens were also done for the night. On the next restart Baker sailed by Ben Miley, and Jared Miley followed. Baker and Miley battled for the top spot until lap 17, when Baker clipped the lapped car of Dave Johnson and almost spun going down the front straight. He collected himself, but that allowed Jared Miley to move into first. Miley led the remaining laps to pick up the win with Baker in second, followed by Ben Miley, Dave Wade, 19th starting John Flinner (who suffered some anxious moments in his heat when his throttle stuck before the heat started), Larry Marks, Mike Davis, Jim Lepro and Jim Kutas to round out the top ten finishers. Jared Miley and Mike Johnson won the heats for the 19 cars on hand.
The Sunoco Race Fuels Pure Stocks were next with Robinson Twp., PA's Bob Schwartzmiller earning his first career win in the class. Schwartzmiller grabbed the lead from Nick Kocuba on lap two and held off the challenges of Stacie White to pick up the win. Pat Weldon ran a solid race for third, followed by opening night's winner Bill Robertson, Kocuba, Joe Anthony, Jake Simmons, Robert Betz, Dave Slade, and Mike Mohn. The heats saw Stacie White and Bob Schwartzmiller picking up the victories.
Chris Basich, Adena OH, picked up his first win of the season and his fifth career win in the Miley Truck Rental E-Mods. Basich started 6th and took the lead on lap 2 from Vince Laboon and held off J.E. Stalder for the win. The front running pair were followed by Mike Basich, Bruce Dreistadt, Daryl Charlier, Laboon, Clayton Kennedy, Jim Plance, Tub Tessean (who was subbing for his son, Wayne), and James Wagner. The heats fell to Daryl Charlier and Kevin Miller.
The Flynn's Tire and Auto Amateur Stocks saw a new sponsor but the same old winner, as Independence PA's, Davy Lee grabbed the win. Eric Goldberg led the first lap but was overhauled on lap two. Bish held on until lap 5 when Lee took over. Lee (subbing for Darren Ferguson) claimed the win followed by Robbie Torrens. Bish was third followed by Eric Goldberg, Brian Huchko, opening night winner Tony White, Dan Duseheid, Kyle Michlovic, Edward Wiser, and J.J. O'Patchen. Davy Lee took the heat.
In the Imperial Heights Garage Young Guns feature event, Rich Mason of Kennedy Twp., PA, took advantage of Sean Graham's misfortune to pick up his first win of the young season. Graham was looking for his first career win when he went spinning on the white flag lap, allowing Mason to take the win. Last week's winner Mike Reft was second followed by Alec Broniszewski, Graham, Tyler Fox, Justin Pons, Daniel White, Hannah Ramsey, Tyler Atkinson, and Brain Beyerbach.
