Newberrytown, PA (April 30, 2007) – Racing action returns on Saturday, May 3, with the second of five races for the “Fab 4 Series” featuring a night of exciting wheel-to-wheel action that includes the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and ARDC Midgets. All “Fab 4” features will be 25-laps in distance except for the ARDC Midgets which will remain at 20 laps. This is an extra five laps from regular season point races. This series will conclude with a point champion for the special “series-within-a-season” at the end of the year. Other “Fab 4 Series” events also include Saturday, June 14; Saturday, August 2; and Saturday, September 13. In the “Fab 4 Series” events, the Late Model winner will receive $1,000; the Street Stock winner will receive $500 and the Xtreme Stock winner will receive $400.
The second of five Clean Technologies Young Guns Street Stock 5-lap dash races will also take place this Saturday night, April 12 featuring all drivers ages 21 and younger. The Young Guns Street Stock Dash Races will run in conjunction with the Fab 4 Special events.
Since three feature events have yet to be completed for handicapping to begin, the lineups for the Late Models, Street Stocks and Xtreme Stocks will once again be determined by a blind draw with the winner of the first heat race drawing to determine the feature event inversion for their respective division.
On Saturday, the pit gates will open 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for the Fab Four Series Event on Saturday night will be Adults (ages 18-59) $14.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $12.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00 with a reduced price of $22.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17. Regular Stock Car Saturday Night grandstand admission is $2.00 less on those nights.
There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
All fans with a ticket stub from the rain-affected, April 26 race event will be able to use their ticket stub from this date for $2.00 off any race during the month of May, not just the following week.
Last Saturday night, severe thunderstorms and a power outage stopped the racing events scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park , but not before all qualifying events were completed. Shortly after the storms began and lightning strike on the speedway grounds knocked out all power at the speedway as competitors and fans were exiting the grounds. Butch Richcreek Jr. beat the rain and the rest of the competitors in the York Haven Auto Sales Mini Van feature event. All fields have been set and rescheduled for future nights in May for the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and Legends Cars.
The 20-lap Street Stock feature has been rescheduled for Saturday night, May 10. The 20-lap Late Model feature has been rescheduled for Saturday night, May 17. The 20-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature has been rescheduled for Saturday night, May 24. The 20-lap Legends Cars feature has been rescheduled when they return to SSP on Saturday night, June 7.

SSP Pit Notes
- Wednesday Night Test & Tune – The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session will be on May 7. It is open to any type of racecars. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. The fuel pumps fro Miller’s Racing Parts will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the public. The main concession stand will also be open throughout the night.
“The Outback Track at SSP”
Testing at the Outback Track scheduled for late April with racing beginning in mid to late May on Saturday mid-morning / afternoon. Gearing the “Outback Track” to the youth, the inside is 1/10 mile for Quarter Midgets with the outer perimeter measuring 1/7 mile for both karts and Bandolero Cars. The turns are 75 feet wide with the straight approximately 50 feet in width. More details will be released as they become available.
