URC RETURNS TO DELAWARE INTERNATIONAL ON SATURDAY, MAY 10
DARYN PITTMAN A POSSIBLE ENTRY FOR THE MAY 17 JACK GUNN MEMORIAL

The fourth race of the Rislone URC Sprint Series will storm the Delaware
International Speedway on Saturday night, May 10. This event will also
mark the second race of the Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint
Series. Just three races into the season, URC has delivered three
different winners with Dave Ely, Curt Michael and JJ Grasso each
dominating their victories. Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE currently
leads the URC Rislone point battle in chase of his sixth URC title and
his fifth consecutive URC championship.

The following week, the stakes rise when URC and the Selinsgrove
Speedway 358 Sprints join forces for the 3rd Annual Jack Gunn Memorial
at Selinsgrove Speedway. $3,500 will go to the winner of the 30 lap
main event that is dedicated to the memory of Jack Gunn, one of the top
promoters in the East. Along with URC's top talent and the best of the
358 sprints, World of Outlaws driver Daryn Pittman of Owasso, Oklahoma
just could be an entry for this event. URC car owner Gene Franckowiak
stated late in the day on Saturday, that he will provide a 360 engine to
the popular 28 year old Pittman, who will be racing here in the East the
weekend of the May 17 Jack Gunn Memorial.

The credits of Daryn Pittman include his career best fourth place finish
in the World of Outlaws point chase in 2003. In that same year, Pittman
won the Historical Big One at the Eldora Speedway. Pittman was the
Australian Sprint Car Driver of the Year in 2003-2004 and the first
American to win the World Series Sprint Car Title (in Australia) in
2002-2003.

The plan is, Pittman will be driving his own Titan Racing #21 powered by
the Franckowiak power plant. Over the years, Gene Franckowiak has
helped URC as an organization in many ways. For the URC drivers, he has
been called upon numerous times to help with parts and even loan engines
to his fellow competitors. Once again, Franckowiak has come to the
support of not only URC, but his efforts towards the May 17th
Selinsgrove event, should make the Jack Gunn Memorial even more
prestigious for the competitors and adding some new excitement for the
fans.

2008 will mark the third year of the Jack Gunn Memorial with Blane
Heimbach winning in 2006 as Dave Calaman took the victory in 2007.
