ALL STAR SPRINTS AND LATE MODELS MAY 9

MECHANICSBURG, PA -- One of the most anticipated double headers of
the season is coming up at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday evening,
May 9, when the late model stock cars will share the pit area with the
All Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars.
Qualifying for the All Star sprint cars is scheduled to begin at 7:30.
An All Star car has never won an All Star sanctioned feature at the
Grove, but this could be the year the Pennsylvania Posse's 17-race
winning streak comes to an end.
The All Stars will be led this season by none other than Lance Dewease.
Dewease, a 5-time Cindy Rowe Auto Glass track champion and winner
of 67 career features at the Grove, has committed to the full All Star
schedule for 2008 and will be representing that organization on May 9.
As a track regular over the years, Dewease owns three Williams
Grove All Star victories. No other driver has won more than one All
Star race at this historic speedway.
In addition to Dewease, two former World of Outlaws regulars have
added even more quality to the All Stars this year. Native Californians
Paul McMahan and Randy Hannagan are no strangers to Williams Grove.
McMahan, in fact, owns two Grove victories.
The Pennsylvania Posse will be ready to defend its home turf with
drivers such as defending Cindy Rowe Auto Glass champion Todd Shaffer,
current point leader Fred Rahmer, Greg Hodnett, Don Kreitz, Jr., and
Mike Erdley, all of whom have claimed All Star victories at Williams Grove.
May 9 will be the final appearance of the season for the late models.
Another strong field is expected as was the case on March 28, which
was the only time a race was run for that division this season. Late
model stars such as Andy Anderson, Gary Stuhler, Jeremy Miller, Jason
Covert, J. T. Spence, Scott Haus, Dan Stone and D. J. Myers were in
competition at that time.
