Lance Dewease Takes Points Lead Back to All-Star Sprint Races.
FAYETTEVILLE, PA. –Lance Dewease and the No. 30c Catoctin Motorsports spent the first weekend in May racing at Mechanicsburg and Port Royal, where he kept his skills sharp in the 410 Sprint races.
“We just had a couple of bad starts,” reported Dewease about the Mechanicsburg race. He started in twelfth place and finished there, unable to improve his position in the face of strong opponents.
The next night, at Port Royal, his results were significantly better. Dewease put the No. 30c car fifth on the time charts in Time Trials, just a fraction of a tick out of first. His heat race saw Lance finish sixth, then he started fourth in the feature, holding that position to the finish of the 30-lap race.
This weekend, Dewease returns to the All-Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint race wars, defending a strong point lead of over 100 points over nearest competitor Dale Blaney. Friday’s race will be at Williams Grove, then Saturday’s feature is a return to Port Royal, one of Dewease’ favorite tracks. With his usual understated attitude, Lance admits he is looking forward to the weekend.
