Newberrytown, PA (May 6, 2007) – The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session will be on May 7. It is open to any type of racecars. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. The fuel pumps fro Miller’s Racing Parts will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the public. The main concession stand will also be open throughout the night. Each class will receive 5 to 6 rounds of 6/8 laps each.
Stock Car Saturday Night Returns with a Special Night Honoring All Mothers
The popular Stock Car Saturday Night Series returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday, May 10, with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and Four Cylinder Stock Cars. This will be a special Mother’s Appreciation night in which all mothers in attendance will receive a pecial gift, compliments of Fisher’s Farm Market in Strinestown. There will also be a special appearance of the Women on Wheels Stock Cars and the Speedway Auto Sales Women on Wheels Mini Vans.
Beginning the night will be make up features for the Street Stocks (postponed from April 26) and the continuation of the postponed Late Model feature from last week with eight laps already completed.
Handicapping will begin for the Street Stocks and Late Models. The Xtreme Stock Cars and Four Cylinder Stock Cars will draw for starting positions in their qualifying races until three feature events have been completed.
On Saturday, the pit gates will open 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for the Stock Car Saturday Night will be Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $22.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17.
There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
Racing action for the second round of the Fab Four Series at the Susquehanna Speedway Park last Saturday night found Newville’s Wes Alleman won the exciting 25-lap Street Stock main event over Scott Thunberg and Joey Hoffer. Steve Buckwalter of Royersford picked up the win in the 20-lap ARDC Midget feature. The 25-lap Late Model feature event was halted on lap 8 by rain with Gene Knaub leading over Carl Billet. The race will be resumed this Saturday, May 10. The Xtreme Stock Car feature event was also postponed to Saturday night, May 31.

“The Outback Track at SSP”
Testing at the Outback Track scheduled for late April with racing beginning in mid to late May on Saturday mid-morning / afternoon. Gearing the “Outback Track” to the youth, the inside is 1/10 mile for Quarter Midgets with the outer perimeter measuring 1/7 mile for both karts and Bandolero Cars. The turns are 75 feet wide with the straight approximately 50 feet in width. More details will be released as they become available.
· Outback Track Schedule also to be released in the near future (First Practice Day tentatively scheduled for Saturday morning, May 24).
