Indiana, PA (May 10, 2008) The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series sanctioned ‘Ice Buster 50’ at Ryan & Gina Lynn’s Hesston Speedway, Hesston, PA has again been postponed for the second consecutive time. The root causes for the postponement are overly saturated grounds, from three days of rain, as well as a very unfavorable Sunday late afternoon and evening forecast including an 80-90% chance of shower and thunderstorms. With all of these circumstances, it forced series and track officials to make the call early Saturday afternoon to postpone the show. The ‘Ice Buster 50’ will be rescheduled in either mid-June or July with an announcement forthcoming next week once a decision has been made and the date confirmed.
The next series event will be Sunday, May 25th at the Keifer Motorsports promoted Bedford Speedway, Bedford , PA. The ‘Late Model Spring Championship’ will carry a quality $30,000 purse paying $5,000 to the winner and $400 to-start.
The purse for the “Late Model Spring Championship 50”: 1. $5,000; 2. $3,000; 3. $2,000; 4. $1,500; 5. $1,250; 6. $1,100; 7 $1,050; 8. $1,000 9. $850; 10. $700 11.$600; 12. $575; 13. $550; 14. $525; 15. $500; 16. $475; 17. $450; 18. $425; 19-24. $400. All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00
The pits gates for the ‘Late Model Spring Championship’ will open at 3:00 p.m. with the drivers meeting at 5:00 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. with time trails slated for 6:15 p.m. Racing will immediately at the conclusion of time trials. The rain date for the ‘Late Model Spring Championship’ is slated for Monday, May 26th.
