RAIN CANCELS URC AT DELAWARE, NEXT STOP IS SELINSGROVE FOR THE JACK GUNN
MEMORIAL ON SATURDAY, MAY 17
With three events completed on the Rislone URC Sprint Series of 2008,
Mother Nature threw a wet blanket on the Saturday night program at the
Delaware International Speedway, with rain forcing cancellation of the
show. URC will next return to Delaware International Speedway on
Saturday night, May 31. But for the coming weekend, the focus for URC
competitors will be on the Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove
Speedway on Saturday night, May 17. The best of URC will take on the
best of the 358 Selinsgrove sprints in this $3,500 to win, 30 lap Jack
Gunn Memorial.
The prior two Jack Gunn Memorial events were won by Blane Heimbach and
Dave Calaman and going into this years Gunn Memorial, Curt Michael
driving the Bill Gallagher owned 5g is a popular favorite along with
Chris Coyle in the BPG #4, Ed Aikin, Brian Seidel, Dave Ely, Davey
Sammons, Becca Anderson, Randy West and previous Selinsgrove URC feature
winner, Joey Biasi.
Another possible entry is Daryn Pittman, World of Outlaw driver of
Owasso, Oklahoma. Pittman will be driving his popular Titan Racing #21
with a Gene Franckowiak owned URC motor.
On the Selinsgrove 358 roster, look for Heimbach and Calaman to be at
the top of the list along with talent like Davey Franek, Mike Walter,
Jeff Furlong, Colby Womer, Scott Flammer and Nate Snyder just to name a
few.
