In one of the most impressive races of his life, defending AMP Series rookie of the Year Kyle Beard rocketed his way to victory at Beebe Speedway on Friday May 9, 2008 from the 20th starting position, earning him both the Hard Charger award, and his first AMP Feature win of the 2008 season.
The lineup included some very impressive names from around the Southern Region of the united States to include Jon Mitchell, Ronny Adams, Allen Tippen, Mike Bowers, Dewayne Hottinger, Tommy Surett, Terry Henson, and Billy Moyer Jr. just to name a few.
With Ronny Adams starting on the pole, the race started off with an intense battle from first place back to sixth place between Adams, Hottinger, Mitchell, Tippen, Bowers, and Tommy Surrett, with Adams taking the early lead.
On Lap 10, Kyle Beard went to the high groove of the race track, and started picking 3-4 cars at a time in the corners, and on lap 17, took the lead from Adams, and never looked back.
"When I came into the feature race, I didn't think I had a chance at all with us starting in the back, but I kept working my way around to the top, and was finally able to get up a little bit higher than everyone else, and it made coming on around pretty easy." stated Beard following the race.
