Little Valley Speedway, located at the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds on Rt. 353 in Little Valley, New York, is ready for its 2008 opener. The “special events only” one half mile dirt track will host the Super Late Models, led by track champion Bob Close, along with the likes of David Scott, Ron Davies, Dutch Davies, Dick Barton, Brent Rhebergen, and many other top drivers at each of the seven scheduled events.
The first program is the Memorial Day Late Model Special at 6:30 on Sunday, May 25th. Gates open at 3:00.
Along with the Super Lates, racing for $3,000 to win, the action filled card will feature the BRP Can Am 360 Late Model Series vying for a $1,000 first place check, the NY/PA E-Mod Challenge, paying $650 for the top driver, and the NY/PA Street Stock Challenge, with $650 going to the winner. Admission for adults is $14, with those under twelve admitted free.
Little Valley Speedway features a covered grandstand, great food at reasonable prices, and free camping with hookups on the grounds. It is conveniently located several miles from I-86, but there is a glitch in traveling to the speedway on I-86, due to the closure of the Rt. 353 bridge near exit 20 in Salamanca. Racers and fans coming from the east need to take Rt. 219 north to Ellicottville and then west on Rt. 242 to Rt. 353. The track is a short distance to the north. Those coming from the west should exit at Randolph (Exit 16) and then follow Rt. 242 east to Rt. 353 and the Speedway. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but the adjusted routes shouldn’t add much extra time to your trip to the track, and it will be worth it.
