ASCS Patriots Return to the Woodhull Highbanks Saturday

Rich Vleck, TULSA, Okla. (May 12, 2008) - Last season, the ASCS Patriots visit to Woodhull was unexpected, this time around, the winged things trip to the “Highbanks” is highly anticipated.

Woodhull Raceway will look to play host to the first complete card of racing in the 2008 season for the ASCS Patriot Region. The season is already underway, but it won’t have officially begun until the checkered flag falls on the 25-lap feature this Saturday.

Woodhull is a high-banked, tightly cornered, 1/3-mile, which is unique to Patriot tour. After an exciting event last season, fans and drivers alike began to salivate at the thought of a return.

Chuck Hebing won that thrilling event, moving around Blake Breen eight laps in and pulling away in a caution-free, action-packed, 25-lap event. Breen would end up handing over Don Adamczyk before it was over, who was able to record his best career finish.

In addition to that top trio, Bryan Howland, who destroyed the Woodhull Track Record, laying down a 13.91 second lap in his heat race, will be on hand, along with a number of other top contenders from the Northeast.

Local favorites on the night include Chris Muhleisen from Arkport, Gary Troutman from Andover, Tim Kelly from Rock Stream and Chris Shuttleworth from Wellsville. Woodhull is the only track in that area so this date was circled early on for these teams.

A number of competitors from Southern Ontario also plan on making their 2008 ASCS Patriot debut, as they will run at Woodhull for the first time.

Racing will begin at 6:30 p.m., with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. For more information, please visit www.ASCSpatriotsprints.com or www.ASCSracing.com.
