Last weekend saw a tremendous dash to victory lane by Gary Tomkins over multiple-time track champion Steve Paine. Tomkins paced his way through the field before driving around Paine on lap-33 to grab the popular victory. With the win Tomkins takes over the point lead by 6-markers ahead of Matt Sheppard. Paine, Todd Burley, and Vince Vitale round out the top five.
Todd Henderson grabbed his first DIRTcar Sportsman win of 2008 at Canandaigua last weekend in the no. 18h. Henderson picked off Dan Wiesner to go onto victory. Opening night winner Eric Giguere crashed hard in his heat race ending his night, and dropping him out of the point lead. With that, Kevin Ridley has an 8-point edge on Loren Lincoln. Henderson, Steve Gray, and Anthony Rizzardo are separated by just 7-points from third to fifth.
Mike Welch and Marc Minutolo took checkered flags in the UMP Street Stock and PureStox divisions. Adam Depuy leads the Street Stock standings, while Jim Cronin leads the charge in the PureStox.
