Meyers Takes World of Outlaws Point Lead After Win at Lernerville



Sarver, PA— May 14, 2008—Jason Meyers used his fourth A-Feature win of the season on Tuesday night in the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway to take the lead in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings. The native of Clovis, California earned three bonus points for being third quickest in time trials and now holds a one-point advantage over Craig Dollansky.



Dollansky earned his seventh Top-Five finish of the season on Tuesday night. He lined up 20th for the 35-lap event and wound up fifth, to earn the KSE Race Products Hard Charger Award. He has finished sixth or better in all eight events this season.



Donny Schatz used his eighth Top-10 finish of the season to remain third in points, just 25 markers behind Meyers. The two-time defending series champion came from 21st to finish seventh in the Commonwealth Clash.



Joey Saldana used his seventh Top-10 finish in eight starts to remain fourth in points. Kerry Madsen rounds out the Top-Five in the championship standings, after also earning a Top-10 on Tuesday night.



Steve Kinser remains sixth in points, with Terry McCarl moving up to seventh after a runner-up performance on Tuesday night. Chad Kemenah also gained a spot after a podium finish and now is eighth in points, with Jac Haudenschild and Daryn Pittman rounding out the Top-10.



Other drivers that moved up in points after the Commonwealth Clash were: Kraig Kinser up to 13th and Sam Hafertepe Jr. who jumped into 14th.



The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action at Williams Grove Speedway on Thursday, May 14 and Friday, May 15. Both events will be taped by SPEED for broadcast on May 31 and June 8.
