Jason Meyers Wins at Famed Lernerville; Takes World of Outlaws Point Lead

Will Appear on 'Wind Tunnel' with Dave Despain Sunday!

CLOVIS, Calif. (May 15, 2008) - Finally getting on the track with decent weather predicted for the evening, Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing, World of Outlaws (WoO) team arrived at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania ready to kick off the first East Coast Swing of the 2008 season, returning to the track where he won his first race on the road with the WoO.

QUESTION OF THE NIGHT: CAN WE FIND ENOUGH POINTS TO TAKE LEAD?

Heading on the track for the Commonwealth Clash, Meyers was able to lay down an AMB i.t. timed lap of 12.832 in qualifying, which was good enough for third place. Finishing second in the heat race earned Meyers a spot in the Crane Cams Dash, where he would finish third. The Dash lines up drivers for the first ten starting spots in the A-Main event, so it's a critical part of the racing program for the drivers.

Falling back to fifth place early in the 35 lap main event, Meyers would use a lap twelve move to propel himself into second place, following "T-Mac," otherwise known as Terry McCarl. Working their way through lapped traffic, Meyers would pull what is now becoming his trademark move, passing McCarl using a move off of turn four on lap eighteen to take the lead. A couple of laps later Jac Haudenschild would pass Meyers for the lead and Meyers would take the lead back once again coming off of turn four on the same lap. Meyers would extend his lead and be the official lap leader on laps 18-35.

Meyers' fourth visit to the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Victory Lane not only netted him the winner's $10,000 check; it also gave him a very slim, one-point lead over now second place Craig Dollansky.

"Getting the win here tonight means so much to the team, our supporters and myself - it has brought us one step closer to the World of Outlaws 2008 Championship, which is our ultimate goal this year," noted Meyers. "Now that we are in the point lead, we have two goals - to extend the lead as much as we can and to continue to put ourselves in Victory Lane."

"I know that I preach how hard our guys work, but without them putting a great car underneath of me night after night, we wouldn't even be in the top ten in (World of Outlaws Championship) points," added Meyers.

UP NEXT FOR ELITE RACING:

The Elite Racing Team is looking forward to two nights at the famous Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Penn., taking a day off on Saturday, and concluding at the Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, N.Y. Meyers staged a great battle in Middletown last year with Daryn Pittman and hopes to add to his series-leading three victories this weekend.

Meyers is scheduled to be live on 'Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain' on Sunday evening from the Orange County Fair Speedway, which will air from 9-10 pm EST.
