ASCS Coastal Region Cancelled at Southern Speedway

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (May 16, 2008) – Friday night's scheduled event for the American Sprint Car Series Coastal Region at Southern Speedway was cancelled when it was revealed that the speedway carried no insurance.

With 18 Sprint Cars already in the pit are several hours before the scheduled race time, ASCS officials were forced to cancel the event when the promoter failed to deliver on repeated promises of insurance verification.

The ASCS Coastal Region will be in action Saturday night at Mississippi's Jackson Motor Speedway, with the initial green flag flying at 7:00 p.m.
