Rain Cancels Sharon Speedway Racing Action for Saturday, May 17th
Hartford, OH May 17, 2008 Due to heavy rains last night as well as impending rain and thunderstorms that are expected to continue throughout the afternoon and evening racing action at Sharon Speedway is cancelled for this evening, Saturday, May 17th.
Next Saturday, May 24th will be a fun filled evening of "Fantastic Five" Racing action featuring the Warren Harley-Davidson 410 Sprint Cars, the Gibson-Governor Insurance Agency Big Block Modifieds, the Tom's Sewer and Drain Service E-Mods, the Tight-Seal Glass Block Pure Stocks and the Limited Sprints. In addition Grandstand Admission will be just $9.00 thanks to Dave Blaney and the Bill Davis/Caterpillar Race Team.
Fans who reside in Ashtabula County, OH and Mercer County, PA can take advantage of the new "County Nights" that will be featured at the speedway throughout the 2008 racing season. Grandstand admission for residents of these counties is just $5.00 on Saturday, May 24th.
In addition "School Spirit Saturday" for students in the Bristol and Mathews (OH) Districts will also move to May 24th. Students are reminded that if they did not receive a "Free Admission" Coupon in class they can pick one up at the ticket window on race day!!
In addition next Saturday the Warren Harley-Davidson Sprint Car and the Limited Sprint drivers will participate in the first of the Speedway's autograph sessions.
Lucky Dog would also like to remind all Kids Crew members that there will be a meeting at the "Pound" next Saturday. New members are still welcome so gather up those young race fans and complete the "Kids Crew" Registration Form that is available on the Speedway website (www.sharonspeedway.com) or stop by the Sharon Speedway office on Saturday, May 24th.
Celebrate your Memorial Day Weekend at the Sharon Speedway on Saturday, May 24th. Be sure to "Buckle Up and Hang On" as we present Ohio's finest Saturday night racing action!! Pit Gates open at 3:00PM with the Grandstand Gates opening at 4:00PM. The first green flag will wave promptly at 6:00PM.
