FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FRANKLIN, PA ... Mother Nature is not a race fan this weekend as
she managed a near weekend sweep on the local circuit forcing Tri-City
Speedway to cancel racing events scheduled for Sunday May 18th at the
half-mile Venango County oval. This is the second rainout of the season at
Tri-City.
Only Raceway 7 in Conneaut, Ohio, managed to beat the rain showers
over the weekend as all other tracks in the area suffered through bad
weather.
"There is no way we can race today," said Tri-City Co-Promoter Mike
Graham. "It's raining here this morning and the forecast is dismal with
cold temperatures. After Friday and Saturday's rains, there is simply
no way that we can dry out. When you walk in the grandstand and parking
areas, your feet sink into the ground. We'll keep our fingers crossed
for good weather next week for our first big show of 2008."
Those fans with tickets courtesy of Red Express from May 11th, or
tickets courtesy of Fisher and Father from May 18th, will be able to use
those tickets on Sunday May 25th.
Tri-City Speedway will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday May
25th as Rankin & Son Excavating Presents the 5th Annual Dick Rankin
Memorial featuring the Engles Trucking Big Block Modifieds in the first
30-lap BRP/Hoosier Race Tires/Sunoco Race Fuels Modified Tour 2008 event
of the season. Fisher & Father will join the show as an associate
sponsor for the 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, RPM Auto
Sales/Sherry Shawgo Real Estate E Mods, E.F. Rogers Plumbing & Heating Pro
Stocks and Klapec Auto Body Thundercars. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing
starts at 6 p.m. Adult grandstand admission will remain at $11 for this
special show.
