MIDDLETOWN, NY (May 19)……..After being off the schedule the past three weekly racing meets, the exciting 358 Modifieds will be back on the Hard Clay at Orange County Fair Speedway the next four Saturday nights. This means even more racing for fans to enjoy as the historic Middletown , New York speedway presents five full divisions of race cars in action for four consecutive weeks.
“Except for our required intermission, we’re running a non-stop program,” says competition director Doug Dulgarian. “We may have as many as 23-25 separate races, so as soon as one race is completed the next one is on the track and ready to take the green flag.”
In addition to the 358, or small-block, Modifieds, a weekly racing program at Orange County includes qualifying and feature races for the headline big-block Modifieds, Sportsman, and Pro Stocks. There are also two feature races for the Pure Stocks.
This coming Saturday, May 24, Orange County celebrates Memorial Day by honoring all active and veteran service men and women. Service personnel in uniform and veterans with proof of service will be admitted for a special $5.00 off discounted ticket. M.J. Corigliano Towing and Super 8 Motel of Middletown are the Veterans’ Night sponsors.
Sponsors for the following Week, Saturday, May 31, are Budweiser Dana Distributors and B G Electric.
Mark Saturday, June 7 as Little League Night. All Little Leaguers, boys and girls, in uniform and the ir coaches will be admitted free. Gemini Automotive and McGannon Excavating are the night’s sponsors.
And on Saturday, June 14, Diamond Hart, Harmony Sand & Gravel, and Fox 96.7/103.1 present Orange County ’s five-division racing program.
General admission for the five-division race meets is $17.00. Discount coupons good for $2.00 off are widely available throughout the area and will be honored both May 24 and 31. Seniors age 60 and up and students 13-17 get $2.00 off General Admission tickets. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Parking on the Fairgrounds remains free.
Ticket prices in the unique Drive-In area are the same as General Admission, plus $1.00 for parking. The parking fee goes towards the Orange County Fair Speedway Drivers’ Point Fund.
