BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY HAS TWO BIG RACE PROGAMS FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2008

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (May 18, 2008) - Although the racing season has been in motion at Bridgeport Speedway since early April, many fans look forward to Memorial Day as the beginning of their race season. This year, Bridgeport Speedway has two big race programs on tap for Memorial Day weekend 2008.
On Friday May 23, the first half of the double header weekend will have “Fast and Furious” Friday night racing. 358 Small Blocks and Limited Sprints will make their first Friday night run in 2008 on the ultra fast 5/8 mile speedway, joining 1/4 mile activity of the 600cc Micro Sprints, 270cc Micro Sprints and 4 Cylinder Stock Cars. Front Pit and Grandstand Gates will open at 5:00 PM. Back Pit Gates will open at 6:00 PM. General Admission tickets are $13 for adults. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Racing on the 1/4 mile speedway will begin at 7:00 PM.
The second half of the Memorial Day weekend will have a “must see” racing event on Saturday, May 24. The Big Block Modifieds will battle it out in not one but two 20 lap features. Jimmy Horton, Wade Henrickson, Richie Pratt Jr., Ryan Watt, and Mike Iles are just a few of the weekly Modified stars. Plus, the United Racing Company (URC) Sprints will be making their second appearance of 2008 at Bridgeport Speedway. Curt Michael, Chris Coyle, Davey Sammons, JJ Grasso, and Dave Ely are just a few of the great URC stars scheduled to race. Also, 358 Sportsman and GM Sportsman will be in competition as well. Pit Gates will open at 3:00 PM, Grandstand Gates open at 4:00 PM, Warm-Ups will begin at 5:45 PM and the 1st Race will start at 6:30 PM. General Admission tickets are $22 for adults. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Pit Admission is $25 with a license and $35 without a license.
In addition, Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
