FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FRANKLIN, PA .. World of Outlaws Late Model Series and SPEED
officials recently announced that the 2008 Oil Region Labor Day Classic
Weekend event run at Tri-City Speedway on Sunday August 31st will be
televised on the nationally-known motorsports cable and satellite channel.
Selected as one of only six World of Outlaws Late Model Series shows
to be televised on SPEED this season, the event will be broadcast on
Sunday September 7th at 6 p.m.
"The World of Outlaws broadcasts in 2007 showed us how exciting dirt
track racing can be on television," said Rick Miner, SPEED Senior VP
of Production and Network Operations during the announcement made in
March.
A return to SPEED in 2008 as the exclusive television outlet for
World of Outlaws racing will bring consistency and awareness to the
viewers.
"The broadcast agreement with SPEED continues the solid growth we
realized in 2007," said World Racing Group CEO Brian Carter. "The more
than 75 million viewers on SPEED give our corporate partners, like
Advance Auto Parts, as well as our teams and our promoters, the greatest
opportunity to reach our fans on a consistent basis. SPEED is the home for
racing on television and we're excited to again have the World of
Outlaws on SPEED this season."
"We are thrilled that our track and event were selected by World
Racing Group, World of Outlaws and SPEED officials for television," said
Tri-City Co-Promoter Mike Graham. "We believe this will elevate Tri-City
to the top echelon of dirt tracks in the United States. It will also
showcase the Oil Region area to the world."
The televised event also provides a unique opportunity for a major
race sponsorship.
"We intend to work with series officials in an effort to market this
event to national and regional companies," said Graham. "This is an
excellent chance for a company to make a mark with race fans throughout
the United States to market their products or services."
The Oil Region Labor Day Classic Weekend will once again feature two
nights of competition for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on
Saturday and Sunday August 30th and 31st. After a successful debut event
in 2005, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will return with such
stars as defending champion Steve Francis, Chub Frank, Clint Smith,
Shane Clanton, Rick Eckert, Josh Richards, Darrell Lanigan, Tim Fuller,
Brian Shirley, Shannon Babb and last year's surprise winner Dan Stone.
Each night, the Late Model drivers and teams will run qualifying events
and a 50-lap feature for $10,000-to-win.
In addition, the FASTRAK Late Models, E Mods and Pro Stocks will run
complete shows each night. The E Mods will be sanctioned by the United
E Mod Series (UEMS) and compete in the final Welding Technologies E
Series races of 2008, with the Sunday show to include the All Star 30.
The Pro Stocks will prep for the 12th Annual CSOnline Applefest 100 with
the third and fourth legs of the William R. Karns Plumbing, Heating and
Air Conditioning Detroit Iron Pro Stock Series.
Adult grandstand admission will be $30 each night with a special
two-day ticket priced at $50.
