UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY LOSES FIRST OF THE YEAR TO MOTHER NATURE
VERNON , NY- Scattered showers and chilly temperatures, plus a forecast that promised more for the remainder of the evening, has forced Utica-Rome Speedway to cancel the race activities planned for Sunday May 18. Scheduled to go was the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Sportsman Series plus a regular show of 358-Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks. The RoC Dart Dirt Sportsman event has been rescheduled for June 8.
The next event will be on May 25 when the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints help celebrate Memorial Day as their 25th Anniversary Tour continues. A regular show 358-Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks is also scheduled. Gates will open at 2:30 p.m. with racing going off at 5 p.m. sharp.
