Mother nature took control of our racing program with on and off rain showers that delayed warm-ups and finally postponed the karting show until next week. The Big Car Show was attempted for the 66 cars signed in for competition! With 2 extended run-in sessions following the rain showers – all heats were raced, the feature line ups in place, and the junior slingshots on tap for their feature. With only 2 laps logged – the rains came again for the final time sending the class to the pits! It was a night to remember that persistence did not overcome Mother Nature’s wrath! Check out the ’08 Photos page at www.HamlinSpeedway.com to see the Driver of the Week and the never say die attempt to go racing!
On schedule for next Saturday 5/24/08 are the make up features for the Junior Slingshots and the Regular Slingshots in tandem with the Twin-20s for the 270cc Micro Sprints. We are tentatively planning to make up the 270cc Micro Sprint feature from 5/17 on 5/31 when the “Briggs Stock Light Challenge” event is also scheduled. The Super 40! For the Super Slingers! Will be “on-hold” and discussed on Saturday at the driver’s meeting to determine it’s makeup date.
On May 30th & May 31st – Hamlin Speedway has joined forces with Snydersville Raceway to host a dual track challenge event for the Briggs Stock Light competitors. This partnership event has been sponsored by DMI Manufacturing Inc. the creator of the EBU (Energy Bank Unit). This is a robust opportunity for the Briggs Stock Light competitors to earn a $500 payout to win plus the challenge payout to win both events with Friday’s night “Dick Haring Memorial”!
DMI will be sponsoring 5 major events at both speedways and will be bringing their DMI Orange County Chopper Bike to Hamlin on May 31st.
