Last Saturday night Gary Tomkins made a late race charge to take his second win of the season at the Land of Legends . Tomkins started in the 8th row, and slowly worked his way through the field before passing Matt Sheppard and Ron Cartwright in the closing laps for the win. Sheppard finished in the top three for the fourth time this season. With the win Tomkins takes sole possession of the point lead ahead of Sheppard, Steve Paine, Charlie Donk, and Todd Burley.
Steve Gray revisited victory lane at Canandaigua Speedway for the first time since 2001 last weekend in the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified main event. Gray took the top spot from Tim Currier and ran away to the win. Kevin Ridley stays at the top of the standings, as Grays win puts him in a tie for second with Todd Henderson. Loren Lincoln and Daryl Hilkert round out the top five.
Bubba Burnell and Marc Minutolo took checkered flags in the UMP Street Stock and PureStox divisions. Adam Depuy continues to lead the Street Stock standings by just two points over Mike Welch, while Minutolo and Bryan Faulkner are locked in a tie in the PureStox.
