Bangor, PA - The "Bangor Bullet" Bruce Kline Scores Bullseye in Saturday Night Win At Orange County Fair Speedway Opener
By Steve Pados, GA Motorsports Media

The 2008 season for the Bruce Kline Racing Team has been an up and down season early on with only second generation Modified hot shoe Jesse Kline putting some good numbers up on the board, first with a great run at the Orange County Fair Speedway as the younger Kline raced to a third place finish after leading the first 23-laps of the event. Jesse followed up the great run at OCFS by traveling over to the Five Mile Point Speedway where the 2007 co-rookie of the year at FMP raced the Bruce Kline Racing Team 59J to a solid runner-up finish. Prior to those runs, the rest of the early season has been one set back after another as both Big Block pilots have suffered from mechanical woes that had them dropping out of feature events early on or being trailered before the feature events were run.

The realm of bad luck that has been following the elder statesman of the team came to a screeching halt on Saturday night as the "Bangor Bullet" Bruce Kline out-drag raced the "Circleville Menace" Mike Kolka on the outside of the raceway for nearly two laps before taking control of the 30-lap for good and proceeded to win his first feature of the new season at OCFS. The win proved to be a popular one for the Bangor, Pennsylvania native as the victory celebration carried on into the night. While the low buck, high integrity race team has struggled some this year, a win or top finish was the fuel needed to propel the team's confidence and desire into the future. Kline drove a masterful race throughout the event as after taking over the lead, Kline was constant in his lap times and hit his marks on every corner to go on and win his first event of the year. In victory lane the humble Kline credited engine wizard Dave Van Horn for working on his only remaining motor during the week to the wee hours of the morning to help him in securing the win. With his son Jesse moving into Big Block competition for the 2008 season, the back-up motor of the Bullet became the primary motor for Jesse Kline, known to his legion of racing fans as the "Bangor Blast". While the team is currently running on empty in the way of much needed spare parts, a big win does allow for the team to go shopping for some of the parts that are needed to go racing in the tough and sometimes unforgiving world of Modified racing.

With the economic woes that hinder the country a low dollar team such as the Bruce Kline Racing Team have to sometimes rely on just making do for while it was hoped to add a new car to the stable in 2008, the needed dollars weren't there to accomplish the mission so it was decided to retain both cars and race what they have. The trusty mounts have served both of the Kline's well and it is hoped they can muster another season out of the race cars. The cars are both of the Teo-Pro standard design chassis and both cars utilize the services of having some strong Van Horn powerplants bolted between the rails. Attention to detail on the equipment is paramount in keeping the team prepped and ready each week they tow to the race track. Sponsorship for the low-buck team comes from longtime sponsors RG Hoffman, Kline's Auto Repair and Van Horn Racing Engines. While the team is hoping for continued success at the speedway, they also realize they may have a sit out a few races should the economy continue to slump and hinder the efforts of the team to be regular competitors at the speedway for the 2008 season. Keeping that in mind, Jesse Kline will move his racing from the Five Mile Point Speedway where he has accomplished so much success since competing there to the closer Orange County Fair Speedway to condense the team's finances and the small crews they were taking with them when they headed in separate directions every Saturday. While the team is still actively seeking out potential sponsors for the new season and beyond, to date nothing has come to fruition.

Bruce Kline Racing would like to thank all of the team's sponsors, friends and fans for their loyal support of the "Bangor Bullet" and the "Bangor Blast". The Klines would also like to extend a huge thank you to Ed and Steve Pados at CARQUEST Gasoline Alley for their long time support and for having the "Bangor Bullet" play a part on the show with his "Inside the Cockpit Report" during the airing of the show
