Steady rain showers, and the threat of more wet weather to come forced the cancellation of the Peckham General Contracting “Four the Family Night” presented by Big Dog WUUF 103.5 FM on Sunday evening. A very healthy field of 29 DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, 26 DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, and 12 UMP Street Stocks were on hand.
All divisions were able to get their warm-ups in before the rains hit the Speedway .
“After warm-ups a steady shower passed through the area and really saturated the racing surface,” said Cayuga County Fair Speedway General Manager, Jack Deery. “After looking at the radar we saw that another cell was coming our way, and with the race track being a ways from ready we decided to make a move. We hope that we see another great field of racecars next Sunday, and hopefully the weather will finally cooperate again.”
Next Sunday at the Cayuga County Fair Speedway it’s Town Mechanical Night at the Races with the “World Famous Trailer Race of Destruction” presented by Taylor-Rental of Auburn . The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds will run Twin 20 features with the PARTS PLUS Big 6 Street Stock Series, BattleKarz and the ESDCA Mod Lites taking the green at 7pm.
