SMAC Magazine to be Title Sponsor for the 2008 ESS Canadian Invasion Series.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In what has been a very good year for major sponsorship announcements for the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS), now comes another in the list as SMAC Magazine has taken over the title sponsorship of the 2008 Canadian Invasion Series.
The spot was vacated by Lucas Oil itself as the successful lubricant company took over the entire tour sponsorship. ESS is now proud to have SMAC Magazine expand their relationship for 2008 which also includes sponsorship of the video ads that are now provided to each track for their own websites. Hailing from St-Eustache, Quebec, the successful publication is providing a special section for ESS and focusing on many of the stars from north of the border. Editor in chief, Mario Shink has taken a liking to the winged warriors of ESS and looks to be at many of the events. Canada is a vital part of the ESS tour with 14 full point events scheduled for ’08 and with the help from SMAC, a large point fund will be awaiting the top ten in points come seasons end. Tracks such as Autodromes Granby, Drummond and Edelweiss, Cornwall Motor Speedway, Brockville Ontario Speedway and the Ohsweken Speedway will be holding ESS full point events this year.
Along with many fine Canadian facilities that host ESS events, top stars such as defending champion Steve Poirier, 2006 champ Alain Bergeron, 2006 rookie of the year Michael Parent, ’07 rookie of the year Normand Beaudreault, Brian McDonald, Lee Ladouceur, father and daughter combo of Rick and April Wilson along with Justin Harris and Chris Jones all hail from the land of the “Maple Leaf”.
The 31 date Lucas Oil tour is underway with the heat being turned up as the summer months approach. So far Justin Barger leads the overall points by strength of his opening event win and a fifth place finish at Utica-Rome. Lance Yonge, Doug Emery, Dan Kaszubinski and Jeff VanDusen are also out of the box with top finishes looking for the 2008 championship.
It all starts on June 13th at Autodrome Granby, some 14 dates, top tracks and mud slinging excitement… It’s the SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion Series! For the latest up to date information you can log on to www.empiresupersprints.com
