VINTON, Iowa (June 3) – Hendrick Motorsports’ Landon Cassill will
compete and first place could be worth as much as $2,450 to the IMCA
Modified driver winning the Sunday, June 15 Hogan Memorial main
event at Benton County Speedway.
Cassill, a Cedar Rapids native, will pilot a Modified supplied by
Jerry Luloff. He’ll also sign autographs before the races start. The
feature pays $1,200 to win, with an additional $50 going to the
driver scored in the lead on each of the 25 laps.
Mystery position money will also be paid for the mid-season
championship night program and Robison Trucking will award $200 to
the Modified hard charger.
Provisionals will be awarded to the top two drivers in local point
standings and to two previous race winners who do not qualify through
their heat or “B” events.
An additional $250 has been added to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car
purse, with $200 more paid in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods
and another $50 in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
IMCA national, regional, Smiley’s Racing Products State and local
track points will be awarded. The Hogan Memorial is a qualifying
event for the 2009 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational ballot.
Pit gates at Vinton open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and
racing to follow.
