FONDA , NY – On Saturday June 7 the third month of the 2008 season begins with a regular show in all divisions along with the Budget Sportsman class which will run double features after a curfew delayed the running of their feature event back on May 10.
Last year the month of June was one for “first time feature winners” as five drivers accomplished the feat in four different divisions.
In the Modified division last June defending Track Champion Matt DeLorenzo had a total of three wins while Bobby Varin and Craig Hanson had one win apiece.
In the Sportsman division last year defending Track Champion David Towns had a total of two wins while John McAuliffe, Mark Mortensen, and Dave Constantino all had one win apiece. For Constantino it was his first career feature win in the division after winning the Jack Lockhart Memorial Dash for Cash back in 2005 which was held for non-winners in the division.
Nick Stone led the way last June in the Pro Stock division with two feature wins along with defending Co-Track Champion Rob Yetman, defending Co-Champion Kenny Gates, and Chip Smith who all had one win apiece. For Yetman it was his first career feature win in the division after winning the Bev Caputo Memorial Dash for Cash for non-winners in the division the week prior.
In the IMCA division last year Danny Ballard had two feature victories while defending Track Champion Jeremy Cramer, Jim Cramer, and George Catanzano all had one trip to victory lane. For Jim Cramer it was his first career win in the division at the Track of Champions.
In the Street Stock division last June defending Track Champion Rocky Warner led the way with four feature wins while Dave Horning Jr. had two wins; Dave Horning Sr., Duke McSpirit, and Chuck McSpirit who all had one feature win apiece. For both Duke and Chuck McSpirit it was their first career wins in the division at Fonda.
Coming up on Saturday, June 14 will be a regular show in all divisions on Student Night. The 10th Annual Bev Caputo Memorial Dash for Cash for non-winners in the Pro Stock division will also be held.
On Saturday, June 21 the second leg of the Go Green NMX Fonda Thunder Series for the Modifieds will take place with the running of a 40-lap feature paying $4000 to win. All other divisions will also be in action.
The month of June concludes with Veterans Night on Saturday, June 28 with all divisions in action. Starting time for all events in June will be 6:00 p.m.
