Brian White picked up his first win of the season in the Autoworks of Ithaca Sportsmen feature event at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Scott Conover took the lead at the start of the 25 lap event. White pulled into the lead on the sixth lap and never looked back opening up nearly a full straightaway lead by the time the checkers flew.
At the finish it was White taking the win, with Ed White finishing second, Scott Conover third, Larry HIllis fourth and Jim LaRock fifth.
Chris Fleming took the lead from Tyler Stoddard on the second lap of the Hunt's Auto Service IMCA Modified feature. By lap three Sean Lias, using a back up car, had moved into second place. Fleming broke coming off turn four on the tenth lap giving the lead and the win to Lias.
It was the fifth win of the season for Lias. Dave Barrows finished second with Jeremy Shaw third, Gary Roberts fourth and Tom Eiklor fifth.
Mike Wilbur took his second Hunt's Auto Service Hurricane Street Stock feature win of the season. Wilbur took the lead from pole-sitter Mike Morse on the second lap with John Cooper Jr. running second, Gene Sharpsteen third and Bill Rampe fourth. On lap six Kurt Decker moved into fourth place and by lap ten had slipped by Cooper for second. Wilbur had opened up a big lead until a caution on lap 15 bunched the field for a restart.
Decker was unable to make a pass in the last five laps of the race giving Wilbur the win, with Decker second. K.J. Yager finished third with Bill Rampe fourth and Gene Sharpsteen fifth.
Jake Fowlston went right to the front and was able to avoid the war of attrition that was raging behind him to take the win in the Road Warrior feature. Ten cars started the event and by lap ten there were only three cars on the track. Cyrus Homer finished second, with Jessy Velez third, Tommy Velez fourth and D.J. Pender fifth.
Bobby Edwards was declared the winner in the Road Bandit feature after post race tech inspection's resulted in the disqualification of the first two cars across the line. Matt Tripp was awarded second with Austin Welch third, Wayne Ross fourth and Dave Jenkins fifth.
The Midstate Vintage Stock Car Club was on hand with Dr. Phil Claussen picking up the win in the Modified division and Frank Blanchard taking the win in the Sportsmen division.
Track Notes: Jerry Dashnau edged Austin Welch in the three lap Reverse Race for the Road Bandits. Brian Hartman barrel rolled his Road Warrior at the end of his heat race off the front stretch wall ending his night. Hartman provided the crowd with the obligatory roof dance. The hot night resulted in a number of drivers commenting about over heating issues with their cars.
