The BRP CanAm Late Model Series were on hand Sunday night at The New
Humberstone Speedway on Young Auto Professionals night. Jeff Chesebro
in his
97 machine managed to lead the race from start to finish with no real
threat
from any of his other competitors. By lap 15, we had seen Chesebro
trying to
weave thru lap traffic very carefully. Racing in the second spot was
Jim
Johnson, running a good race. There was a three way battle for third
between
Paul Grigsby, Steve Dixon and Jason Boyle. The spot would eventually be
taken over by Paul Grigsby. Top 5 were Jeff Chesebro, Jim Johnson, Paul
Grigsby, Steve Dixon and Jason Boyle. (Heat Winners were Steve Dixon,
Jeff
Chesebro and Jim Johnson)

Kevin Sharpe, of the Cosco Haulage Sportsman division, led most of
the 25 lap event and looked like he was on his way to his first ever
sportsman win. He had to first fend off the P38 of Rob Pratt, just as
it
looked like Pratt was about to take the lead, Pratt got a flat tire.
With
Sharpe back in the lead it was only a matter of time until the 9 of
Paul
Gaboury was up front challenging Sharpe for the win. Gaboury would
eventually take the top spot and would send Sharpe to second, but the
lead
for Gaboury wouldn't last long, slowly the 777 was working his way
through
the field. 777 of Tyler McPherson started in the 18th starting position
and
on lap 22, Gaboury got stuck behind some lap traffic, and that allowed
Tyler
to take the lead and the win. Top 5 Tyler McPherson, Paul Gaboury,
Kevin
Sharpe, Mat Williamson, Don Spiece. (Heat Winners were Mat Williamson,
Zack
Zumpe and Don Spiece)

The Brian's Tire Repair Streetstock Division had twin 25's on the
schedule,
the first 25 on the schedule did not disappoint. Jaren Israel was the
first
winner after the rain delayed intermission. Israel in his 10 car took
the
lead from the 1J of Jason Fontaine on lap 7, and for a couple of laps
seemed
to be having a battle all by themselves for the top spot. The 2 of Alan
Sleight was moving through the field and eventually overtook the 1J for
the
2ns place finish. Russ Davidson having a good race until "Silly" Billy
Hogue
had his sights on him and moved Davidson back to 4th place position.
Top 5
were Jaren Israel, Alan Sleight, Bill Hogue, Russ Davidson, and Kevin
Kocarik.

In the 2nd Brian's Tire Repair Streetstock event, it was the currents
points' leader Bill Hogue who captured his 3rd win in 4 weeks at The
New
Humberstone Speedway. Hogue took the lead from the 117 of Rick Beales
sending Beales back to fight with the 88 of Shayne Pierce, and waiting
in
the wings 31B of Barry Blanchard was running very closely behind them
waiting for his chance to pounce on the 3rd spot. Top 5 were Bill
Hogue,
Rick Beales, Barry Blanchard, Jason Fontaine and Brad Sheehan. (Heat
Winners
were Rick Beales and Brad Sheehan)

The ministock division saw the husband- wife team of Aaron Wiley and
Jocelyn
Wiley starting in the two top spots. The 7W of Aaron Wiley stole the
number
1 spot from his wife on lap 3 and remained there the entire 15 laps.
The 7w
had to remain calm and careful as the 10s of James Small was slowly
creeping
up. In the third place spot we had a battle between 17 of Chris Laskey,
71
of Garnet Wilson and 5 of Carey Gore. In the end it was Aaron Wiley
who
captured his second victory of 2008 Season. Aaron Wiley, James Small,
Chris
Laskey, Garnet Wilson and Carey Gore. (Heat Winners were Aaron Wiley
and
Carey Gore)

In the Weekend Motorsports pure stock division it was the number 7s of
Shaun
Keus who won his first feature of the 2008 season. It was a photo
finish for
the 7s and the 38 of Sam Iftody. Top 5 were Sean Keus, Sam Iftody, Mike
Greene, Terry McNeil and Rob Goulden. (Heat Winner was Sam Iftody)
