SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion Series Starts this Weekend: Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints Visit Autodromes Granby and Drummond.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A very important part of the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints is the trips north of the border and this weekend the first two events will take place. Kicking off the SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion Series will be Autodrome Granby and Drummond, two great tracks located in the French speaking province of Quebec.
The A-Main events will be brought to you by Fondations 4 Saisons which will pay $2,000 to win and $450 to start, the largest A-Main purse on the tour. Both Granby and Drummond will be bringing out the red carpet for the winged warriors in the first of three weekend visits.
On Friday it will be special evening as it’s the annual tribute to Fondation Mira, a special 10 lap race for drivers that are blind with celebrities as the co-pilots. Between the special charity race and the visit by the Lucas Oil tour you can expect a SRO crowd of some 8,000 plus in the grandstands. Fans should note that if weather becomes the victor, a special Sunday rain date has been set up.
On Saturday its Quebec’s oldest running dirt track in Autodrome Drummond that will play host to the ESS traveling road show. It’s the first of two exciting weekends for the fans of Drummond as the World of Outlaw late models will make an appearance the very next week. Normand Beaudreault Construction will be backing the Walt’s Hobby Dash making for an added attraction for the local fans.
Along with Beaudreault, Quebec fans will be cheering on defending champion Steve Poirier, 2006 champ Alain Bergeron, 2006 rookie of the year Michael Parent, Daniel Lampron and Kayle Robidoux. The American contingent will be made up of current ESS point leader Lance Yonge, Justin Barger, Jeff Cook, Tommy Wickham, Bubby Kerrick, Cory Sparks, Anthony Cain and others.
June 13 and 14, the first of 14 SMAC Magazine Canadian Invasion Series events on the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints tour. Granby, Drummond, it will be excitement guaranteed!! French-Canadian style!.
