The Triple Crown of racing is next Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway

Cornwall, Ontario – Martin Bélanger – With less than one week to go before the biggest show of the year at Cornwall Motor Speedway sponsored by America`s First IGA, preparations are coming out well to receive the World of Outlaws, Empire Super Sprints and modified on the same night on Sunday, June 22 2008! Here are some good reasons to be at the speedway on that date.

The World of Outlaws Late Models will make their first appearance at Cornwall, as it will be part on the Great Northern Tour, which includes two other dates in Canada at Ohsweken on Thursday and on Saturday at Drummond. The point’s race is really close right now with only a 40 points difference between first and sixth spot. 2007 series champion Steve Francis is currently tied with Darrell Lanigan for the top position with 1593. These 2 drivers will be at the speedway along with other Late Model stars such as Josh Richards, Shannon Babb, Chub Frank, Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, Clint Smith and also some former modified stars such as Tim McCreadie and Tim Fuller who now runs the WOO series on a full-time basis. Other familiar faces to Cornwall fans will be in the pits, drivers like Danny Johnson, Billy Decker and Joe Isabell. Gatineau native Peter Mantha will also be in the mix. The winner will get a cool $10,000 for his win.

The stars and cars of the Empire Super Sprints will make their first of two shows at Cornwall in 2008. This very spectacular group always puts on great shows the ¼ mile bullring. The A-main winner receives $2,500 and second spot will get $1,500 courtesy of West Front Construction. The drivers that will participate in the dash for cash will compete for a $600 purse sponsored by 730 Truck Stop. Lance Yonge currently leads the point’s race over Steve Poirier; Justin Barger in third followed by Alain Bergeron and Michael Parent completes the top 5. It will also be the fourth event of the SMAC Magazine Canadian Challenge.

Usually the 358-modifieds are the main event of the evening at Cornwall but for this time they will be sharing the spotlight with these other spectacular classes. They will have 30-lap feature event. The presence of the WOO Late Models and ESS will attract newcomers to this class.

Some extra parking area will be added for this event along with an extra shuttle service that will make everything more convenient for people who need it. Cornwall Motor Speedway wants to make this night special for everyone in attendance.

The advance ticket sale is running at full speed. The ticket cost $45 for adults, 25$ for Seniors 65 and up, Children from 5 to 12, Student from 13 to 17 and it is free for children who are 4 years and under.

General admission opens at 3:30pm and pit gates at 4pm. Time trials are schedule to start at 6:30pm with the first heat at 7pm. We encourage you to arrive early to come and see the best show on DIRT in 2008!
