Eldora to host busy July week.

ROSSBURG, OH (June 16) – Busy seems to be the buzz word at Eldora Speedway.

Coming off the heels of the Dirt Late Model Dream week which included all the Old Spice Prelude to the Dream hype and acitivity, staff members are gearing up for the Kings Royal week and the many events and activity surrounding it.

Deemed the Week of Royalty, it kicks off on Tuesday evening, July 8, with the Ollie’s 360 Challenge featuring NASCAR’s Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and Dave Blaney as they tackle the best of the 360 Sprint Car world. Eldora’s biggest single day payout for such cars will be on the line with a $6,000 paycheck awaiting the victor, but more importantly, it puts one driver in the running for a potential $50,000 payday.

The Ollie’s Outlet sponsored event is a three-race series which also involves Sharon (OH) Speedway and Williams Grove (PA) Speedway. If one driver is able to capture two of the three events, a $50,000 cash bonus has been posted.

Following the Ollie’s event will be the fabled Kings Royal weekend (July 11 & 12), with its 25th annual rendition. A full World of Outlaw (WoO) Sprint show kicks things off on Friday night (July 12), with the NRA (National Racing Alliance) Sprint Invaders, sharing the twin bill; while Saturday’s $50,000 Kings Royal will be a single division contest this year; highlighted by the WoO tour.

As a special treat, Eldora will be hosting a special Salute to the Kings on Saturday afternoon in the Eldora Ballroom. The special luncheon has attracted the interest of many past Kings; including Jac Haudenschild, Donny Schatz, Doug Wolfgang, Sammy Swindell, Joey Saldana, Dale Blaney, Steve Kinser, Donny Krietz, Jr., Bobby Davis, Jr. and Jason Sides. Dave Blaney will be fulfilling his NASCAR obligations in Chicago that weekend; while Johnny Herrera and Mark Kinser are still contemplating their attendance. The event is open to the public and ticket information may be found at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Other activities throughout the Kings Royal weekend include a Cornhole Tournament, Simulator Challenge and the third annual National Sprint Car Hall of Fame auction.
