Canandaigua Speedway Offers Bonus To Sportsman Drivers For Green-White-Checkered Feature
Weedsport, NY June 17, 2008 By Dan Kapuscinski, Canandaigua Speedway PR and Promotions Coordinator
The DIRTcar Sportsman Modified drivers will have a little something extra to race for until July 5th at Canandaigua Speedway. Canandaigua Speedway is offering a $25 bonus to each driver in a 24-car field should the entire 25-lap feature event go green-white-checkered with no cautions.
Last weekends DIRTcar Sportsman Modified main event saw a tremendous battle for the lead between eventual winner Steve Gray and Dan Wiesner. Unfortunately, several incidents put a damper on that lead battle, and prolonged the 25-lap event. As a result, the bonus has been put together as an extra incentive to try and keep everyone headed in the right direction.
We have some of the best Sportsman drivers around and certainly some of the best racing around right here at Canandaigua Speedway, said General Manager, Jack Deery. Were always looking for ways to help better our program, and also find ways to help give back to our drivers. Were hoping this can serve both purposes.
This Saturday night the DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds return to Canandaigua Speedway for Home Necessities Green Mamba Jet Car Night. Come watch the Green Mamba Jet Car Meltdown at Sundown, and see the Mamba consume a whole car in flames. The DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds will also be on hand with the green-white-checkered bonus on the line, as well as the DIRTcar Street Stocks, PureStox, and ESDCA Mod Lites.
Grandstands open at 5pm, with racing getting underway at 7pm. For more information call the DIRTcar NE Headquarters at 315-834-6606, or visit www.canandaiguaspeedway.com.
