More sponsors step up to sponsor Wingate Classic.

MORE SPONSORS STEP UP FOR HEAT RACES AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY'S WINGATE CLASSIC

BRIDGEPORT, NJ (June 18, 2008) - With less than one week remaining, the 11th annual George Wingate Classic at Bridgeport Speedway on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:30 PM could be a very profitable night for any driver in attendance. A 40 lap feature paying $4000 to the winner for the Big Block Modifieds will be the main event which will also be race three of eight in the Bridgeport - New Egypt Modified Challenge Series. Also, Big Block Modified heat winners will be receiving a minimum of $125 courtesy of South Jersey Overhead Doors and Supreme Manufacturing.

Expected Big Block Modified entrants include many of the Bridgeport Speedway stars, such as Jimmy Horton, Richie Pratt, Mike Iles, Wade Hendrickson, Jimmy Chester, Gary Hager, and Ryan Watt. Duane Howard, Billy Pauch, Jeff Strunk, Keith Hoffman, Stewart Friesen, Mike Gular,and Rick Laubach are expected to lead a surge of invaders to the big 5/8 dirt oval. Bridgeport Speedway regular Mike Iles is the current Bridgeport - New Egypt Modified Challenge Series point leader with 224 points. Keith Hoffman sits in second place with 204 points, followed by Wade Hendrickson at 192. Jimmy Horton and Billy Pauch round the top five with 172 and 166 points respectively.

A 25 lap Open Sportsman event paying $1200 to win is on tap as well. $125 will be awarded to the winners of the Sportsman heat races courtesy of Mike Lyons and family. If the heat winner is a regular at New Egypt Speedway, an additional $100 will be doled out courtesy of Lyons and family. If the heat winner is a regular at Bridgeport Speedway, an additional $100 will be given out sponsored by DCS Racing.

Pit Gates will open at 4:30 PM, Grandstand Gates open at 5:00 PM, and the racing will commence at 7:30 PM. General Admission tickets are $20 for adults. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Pit Admission is $25 and no pit license is required.

Bridgeport Speedway provides a safe and secure family atmosphere, free parking, giveaways and fan participation games. Billed 'The Fastest Dirt Track in the East', Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
